MassDOT 25% Design Public Hearing

The purpose of this hearing is to provide the public with the opportunity to become fully acquainted with the proposed Community Path – Belmont Component of MCRT (Phase I) project. All views and comments submitted in response to the hearing will be reviewed and considered to the maximum extent possible. The proposed consists of the construction of a new paved shared-use path along the Fitchburg Commuter Rail and a new concrete underpass beneath the railroad tracks at Alexander Road to provide a connection from Channing Road to the Belmont High and Middle Schools.

COVID-19 Project Update

The health and safety of our community is our top priority. As COVID-19 (Coronavirus) continues to spread, we are following the recommendations of health experts and the Governor regarding “social distancing” and stay-at-home practices to help flatten the curve of the disease. All of us in Massachusetts have an important role to play in order to slow the transmission of the virus.

In terms of the Belmont Community Path Project this means:

The Public Information Meeting for the Belmont Community Path is on hold; we will provide an update once it has been scheduled.
The call for art has been extended until April 27^th. We are looking forward to receiving many creative ideas for the logo. https://belmontcommunitypath.com/2020/03/contribute-art/
